Thunderbird is a popular open source email client. It would be helpful if you would include information about connecting with Thunderbird.

I started a new account on Thunderbird and used defaults. After about a minute in comes back telling me login failed and offering me to enter a new password. I know the password is correct because I can log in using web mail.
Thunderbird is looking for smtp.icon55.com and mapi.icon55.com. I changed the Thunderbird request to mail.icon55.com. This had the same result. I added smtp and mapi to the Domain Names (DNs) -> mail servers line. The reslt was the same. That line now reads mail mail imap smtp. Any suggerstions? |

What login you use? Your login should be like email address (user@example.com) and in lowercase symbols.
We have instruction for Outlook Express, I think it will help http://en.ispdoc.com/index.php/Confi...utlook_Express |

OK, I am using imap. I am using port 143. There are three possible authentication methods available for imap. None, STARTTLS and SSL/TLS. I have tried all three.
I have used mail.icon55.com and imap.icon55.com as server names. The servers are found but will not authenticate. I keep getting asked to try another passworrd. I am certain I am typing in the correct password. I have double and triple checked every step of the way. |
