Can anyone please tell me a solution to the following problem so I don't have go through each time I add a new domain to set the passwd and .htaccess files in the webstat directory to 644 instead of 640?

Why do you need these permissions? It is insecure.
.htaccess and passwd file have owner user and group www (apache user group) and can be read by apache and work with 640 permissions without problem. Last edited by tanya; 04-02-2010 at 04:04 AM. |

Because on all the domains that are set up, and I try to access the webstat directory, I get a 403 Forbidden error, once I set both the .htaccess and stat.passwd file to 644, then it works. Looking at all the permissions for the webstat folder, the owner of the webstat folder is root.
