Hello,
ISPmanager allows to create FTP account only for users. I mean each FTP account has uid as a user. Each FTP account has access permissions as a user has. So, to be able to manage all files in /var/www it needs to be root. But root can't login via ftp but via sftp can. May be it is better to use sftp and login as root. |

If you want to create another user with root access - duplicate root line in /etc/passwd like this:
root:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash newroot:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash After then - create password for him: passwd newroot And use newroot sftp Or you could choose another way to add administrative user manually |
