Try use Atomic repository http://www6.atomicorp.com/channels/atomic/
In this repo you can find PHP 5.2.17 for CentOS 6.0 (see http://www6.atomicorp.com/channels/a...s/6/i386/RPMS/).

We do not test any actions for this. But PHP 5.2 exist in atomic and will probably work

Try to add this repository into OS and add exclude = php*5.3* to [atomic] section in /etc/yum.repos.d/atomic.repo
Remove old (system) php and install again.

Also check CentOS (RHEL) documentation and CentOS forums (https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/index.php)
