Strange problem Debian, exim and maildir vs mbox
 

HI, in one installation we have a debian 64 bits version 6.0.

Ispamanager installed exim 4.72.6, spamassassin 3.3.1-1, and dovecot 1.2.15-7, everything is working ok with all domains, except one mailbox.

Every mailbox is created ok with maildir, but we have one that whenever we create/delete/recreate the same email account it is created as mbox, and webmail/pop cant see any emails because they are expecting a maildir system.

Where are the exim maildir/mbox user configuration defined?

Any suggestions in how to resolv this problem ?

You should check Option MailDir in ispmgr.conf
Also check exim configuration file for maildir support

Hi, thank you for the info.

I've checked ispmgr.conf and Option Maildir was listed.

Then edited the file "/etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf and changed:

dc_localdelivery='mail_spool'

to

dc_localdelivery=maildir_home

then execute update-exim4.conf and restarted exim4 and now the mailbox works.
