VDS Manager Installation

Morning All,

Just a few questions about VDSManager in particular.

Would I be right in thinking that VDSManager could be installed on Debian 5 with the VDSManager Linux licence for managing a Xen Hypervisor?

Also, how much space would VDSManager need for the install on the dedicated server?

Can VPS instances be created via the VDSManager API?

Can user accounts be suspended/unsuspended via the API?

Can they be assigned more than 1 IP?

Many thanks in advanced :0)

David

Yes, when you install VDSmanager-Linux you can choose type of virtualization.

~100Mb (VDSmanager core data in /usr/local/ispmgr folder + apache web server) and all other free space (in Gigabytes) for disk (virtual server) templates and VPSes.

We are recomend mark all disk space by one partion / for Xen and two (/ - 4-8Gb /vz - all other space) for OpenVZ

Yes, VDSmanager can be controlled through the API via https requests.

For the virtual server, you can add as many addresses as supported by virtualization technology.

VDSmanager-Linux - it's only graphical interface for OpenVZ, Xen and VServer technology for easy VPS management.

slava,

Many thanks for getting back to me, i've only 1 concern at the moment which is stopping me from making the purchase.

OS Templates for Xen, is there any way to manually add them as there is only 2 available?

http://stacklet.com as 100's available, if VDSManager was able to use these you'd be on to a serious winner.

All the best,

David

Currently we are provide only templates with CentOS and Debian, other versions in development, but you can manually upload to your server any template for Xen virtualization and put it into the directory with templates.

In what format do the templates need to be in?

Also, does the panel support OS reloads?

If so, is there support for this through your API?

I already have a members area, an was going to use the API to start, stop, restart and reload their VPS server ..

All the best,

David

Templates must be in the archives .tgz and that contain a Xen disk image
One needs only to copy them to the directory in which their places in Xen

Yes, and all actions in VDSmanager fully supported through the API
Also can order a demo trial version for testing

slava,

Many thanks for your help so far, I understand your busy but just thought i'd pass this concept past you.

The below link is for a modified version of Debian 5 with the Xen Kernal

http://stacklet.com/downloads/images/debian/5.0

If i extracted the files from the image, and .tgz them up and uploaded to the correct dir, would the VDSManager be able to extract them and make them available to VPS's?

Last question, do you have PHP examples of the API in your documentation?

slava,

You've certainly done a good job selling the product. I'll be purchasing as soon as i've finished testing.
