Courier & sqlgrey

What I am missing in ISPmanager:
1. support for SQLgrey
SQLgrey has it's own manage site, however this is only for the root user
and using another management site is another site to worry about :)
2. support for Courier IMAP/POP3

Just my 2 cents :)

Courier IMAP/POP3 is supported

Twister 08-11-2008 08:59 AM

that's strange because ISP manager does not offer me to be able to activate this, only 3 versions of dovecot?

Wishmaster 08-11-2008 10:18 AM

You can install these yourself if you would like, this does not do anything special beyond installing them

Twister 08-11-2008 12:06 PM

Then what is the requirement of it to show the E-mail section of ISPmanager?
Because it does not show up in the list.

Postfix is successfully detected and enabled

to enable courier, first you need to install it. add the following parameters to ispmgr.conf
POP3 courier
path userdb ... (default vaue is /usr/local/etc/authlib/userdb)
path makeuserdb ... (default vaue is /usr/local/sbin/makeuserdb)
path maildirmake ... (default vaue is /usr/local/bin/maildirmake)

Thanks that did the trick.

Why is it so "difficult" to activate software that is not installed by ISPmanager?
When the ISPmanager installer runs it detects the software and activates it so why can't this be done after ISPmanager is installed?

I'd like to manage the software myself since I am running it on Gentoo.

All the rest seems perfect for what I want to use it for, keep it up ;)

Cheers

Gentoo is not about building everything from source, optimization flags, and text-mode installation. If the manual configuration scares you, Gentoo is not for you. Choose Debian, which is one of the most stable and easy-to-maintain operating systems available.

Twister 08-13-2008 09:19 AM

That's not what I ment and manual configuration does not scare me as it is now manually configured, I've put a lot of time and work into that configuration.
But I want to use ISPmanager for my hosting company that I wan't to start up so I don't have to manually configure everything for the client as well.

The only thing I still want to do manually is maintain the software versions and not with ISPmanager as I cannot see what it is doing.
Does not matter which distribution I would use, I would still want to maintain those versions myself ( I probably expressed myself wrong ). :)

So is it possible to make the "software activator" of the installation script separate?

Wishmaster 08-13-2008 10:21 AM

the "software activator" and the installation script is one and the same thing... what do u mean by "make it separate"?
i do not understand you. you want to resell the software licenses or what?
