bug in panel URL setup
If we enable "Use domain name" at the "control panel URL settings" ISPmanager creates a VirtualHost container for the given domain name in /usr/local/ispmgr/etc/ispmgr.inc. The virtual host is bind to the IPv4 address of the server, but also IPv6 is enabled (Option AllowIpV6) the VirtualHost container does not include the IPv6 address of the server.
The result is that IPv6 clients requesting https://myserver.example.com/manager will see the first IPv6 enabled web presence of the server and not the control panel. |

The hostname of regular servers with dual stack hosting resolve to one IPv4 and one IPv6 address. If we now enable "Use domain name" the control panel is no longer reachable from IPv6 clients. As no one would expect such a behavior I've to call this a bug. So maybe it would be a good advice simply to resolve the given domain name and use the fetched IP addresses and not to use the license IP. btw. the same problem would occur if we would enter a domain name which points to a secondary IP address of the server. |
