Backup settings compatibility with rdiff-backup

We currently use rdiff-backup for server back ups. I would like to see a setting to allow back ups using this method. So instead of using a compressed .tgz archive, it would populate with the already existing rdiff-backup settings.

Yes, total backups is ok for last week, but not for massive backups...
Could you share your backup script?
